This colander works perfect with my huge stock pot. The capacity is great & this made removal of the meat & veggies so easy. Once the stock was done, I just pulled the colander up, propped it so it drained and then tossed the used meat & veggies. It was great. I suggest cleaning the colander immediately after use. Allowing it to sit will make stuff crust on and in the holes, which can make the clean up more work than it needs to be. When I was considering this colander, I was hesitant because the measurements provided did not give me enough information. So, here are some measurements (approximately) which may help you make a decision.Bottom diameter: 10 3/4"Inside at the top: 11"Bottom to top of colander holes: 5 5/8"Bottom to bottom of handles: 8 5/8"I hope this helps. What can I say? It’s a Paderno! I purchased this along with the pot that it fits into. It is smaller in size to what you generally see but, it easily cooks a pound of linguini. Perfect! (The pot that you use to insert the colander is of such is high quality that 30 minutes after the pot is removed from heat the water is still blazing hot! To repeat an old adage, “you get what you pay for”!I purchased the 11" perforated pot/strainer to blanch summer produce in before putting up in freezer bags. This is very well made! Not flimsy, no rough edges, very happy with my purchase. Leave it to the Italians to design an elegant and extremely functional colander for their stock pots. This colander is a dream. It fits my Paderno stock pot perfectly and you can fill the pot very high without ANY water leaking or dripping out as is common with the less than ideal "lip" designs of other manufacturers. This design doesn't use a lip, which is why it works so well.Il prodotto è di ottima fattura, soltanto che se non si hanno fornelli professionali, per far bollire l'acqua è necessario più tempo.e arrivato secondo i tempi stabiliti ben inscatolato senza difetti l'abbiamo provato e pratico lo consiglio a tutti bisognava comprarlo primaPerfekt to use with induction when you don't have a sink and you must cook 1 kg per time
